We work with you to determine the best strategy for completing your commercial painting project, from deciding the best time to work on the project to avoid disrupting your business to giving your business the appearance which tells your customers how you do business.
Below is our detailed commercial interior painting process.
Color Consultation
During your color consultation with Roe Painting, we will advise you on the best colors to complement your décor. We will help explain the variety of shades and finishes as well as how colors complement each other. We will also create some color swatches for you to see how the paint you choose will look on your wall with your lighting. Our goal with the color consultation is to help our clients be confident with their choice of color and feel excited and secure the color they wake up and fall asleep to is a source of pride.
A Roe Painting color consultation considers several important factors which influence how your paint color & finish will look in your home.
This 5-step process covers:
- Examine your commercial property’s interior and exterior
- Evaluate your current colors and finishes.
- For interior projects, Roe Painting studies your furnishings, flooring, fabrics, artwork, and accessories to help create the right color and finish options
- Roe Painting also considers lighting and other elemental factors to aid you in your color choices.
Clean & Prep of Surfaces
We first remove all blinds, pictures and any furniture away from the surfaces to be painted. Any furniture which can’t be removed from the room will be tarped and covered to prevent any accidental damage.
Dust, old paint and even loose plaster can ruin your paint job. At Roe Painting, we clean the wall surface removing the dust and old paint. We also fill in any nail holes, cracks and mask any surfaces which should be free from paint splatter such as doors, switch boxes, windows, etc.
Finally, we scrub the surfaces with sandpaper to improve the overall finish of your commercial painting project.
Primer & Putty Application
Primer gives your project a smooth finish, consistent appearance, and better adhesion. Whether your walls are brick, metal or wood, the primer is an essential part of the commercial painting process.
After a coat of primer is applied to your walls, Roe Painting applies putty to any plastering or drywall imperfections. Putty also acts as a protective layer walls and fills in minute pores. Finally, Roe Painting caulks door and window sidewall cracks to ensure no leaks or dampness ruin your new commercial paint job.
Painting & Cutting In
Using rollers and brushes, Roe Painting applies even coats of paint to your walls and ceilings to get the desired finish. Once your paint has been applied to the majority of the surface in the project, the “cutting in” process begins. This process blends the edges, taking skill and experience to complete. “Cutting in” gives a Roe Painting commercial painting project a uniformed finish not found in an amateur job.
Clean Up & Inspection
Roe Painting understands the importance of how your business appears at first glance. Making your business or commercial property look its best is our #1 priority.
Once the paint has dried, and the desired finish has been achieved, the cleanup process begins. Roe Painting removes all maskings and coverings which were placed to protect doors, windows, switch boxes, etc. from paint splatter.
After the maskings and coverings are removed, and the job site is cleaned up, a thorough inspection of the commercial painting project is completed. We will go over the finished project with you in detail to ensure you are confident the color and finish are what you expected.

Power Washing, Trenching & Scraping
The first step in our exterior commercial painting process after your color consultation is raking away any landscaping to ensure the paint goes below the ground surface. Roe Painting then power washes your building to remove loose paint, dirt, and debris to ensure a durable and lasting finish. Competitors who skip this step may have paint jobs which prematurely age.
After we power wash the walls, we scrape away any leftover peeling paint missed during the power wash process to create a clean and smooth surface.
Masking, Repairs & Caulking
Once the cleanup of the exterior through power washing, trenching, and scraping is completed, Roe Painting masks, repairs, and caulks your building’s exterior. We caulk all cracks around windows, doors, and fascia to seal these areas. We mask the windows and trim not being painted to protect these surfaces from accidental paint splatter. Finally, we repair any drywall and stucco texture before any painting begins.
Primer & Foundation Waterproofing
To provide the best adhesive surface, Roe Painting primer to your exterior surfaces. We also apply a special coating to the foundation of your building to prevent peeling due to moisture.
Painting Your Exterior
Starting from the top of the wall, Roe Painting will apply your exterior paint both vertically and horizontally to ensure proper coverage. We will also back roll and apply a second coat as contracted. Roe Painting will also apply paint to trim and doors as necessary. Finally, any metal surfaces and accents needing paint will be painted using precision painting techniques.
Clean Up and Inspection
All coverings, masking, and debris is removed from the job site. We then inspect the completed commercial painting project with you to ensure you are confident and excited about the appearance of your building’s exterior. Our goal is to provide you with an incomparable exterior paint finish making you the envy of your community. Once the inspection meets your satisfaction completely, we ask you to sign off on the completed project.
